Our Livorno Shore Excursion to Florence & Chianti Region gives you a chance to visit both the city and country-side during your day. The excursion is led by an expert English speaking driver guide whom will help to create a personalized experience while taking into account your specific interests.

Tour Description:
Our excellent English speaking driver guide will pick you up right at your ship and transfer you to Florence sharing with you the history of the local area in a fun informative way. Florence is world renowned as the birthplace of Renaissance art, history, and architecture, and thanks to Dante, the Italian language as well. On this overview of Florence you can see some of the major highlights of Florence including the panoramic view of the city from Piazzale Michelangelo, the main square of Piazza della Signoria, the main cathedral and the church of Santa Croce, the burial place of Michelangelo, Galileo and a host of other famous Florentines.
There is also time for to shop or visit historical landmarks. Many people are know to shop for jewelery on the Ponte Vecchio. If you are not visiting on a closed day a visit to the Accademia Museum visit is planned and we will be sure to make an advance reservation so that you can skip the line to see the David by Michelangelo. Please let us know if you prefer for us not to make a reservation on booking. Our driver guide will be available to your party for the entire day and will give you general historical information for some of the important sites in Florence on the drive in. As parking and driving restrictions are quite high in the center the driver guide does not accompany you into the sites but he will take you to Piazzale Michelangelo for a panoramic view and you can ask many questions to get familiar before you have time on your own once in the heart of Florence. While we will arrange an inside visit with tickets for the Accademia, the visit is unguided but you can add audioguides to listen.
At 1:00pm, your driver guide will take you to the Chianti region where you will be able to forget about crowds and tourists and immerse yourself in the picturesque Tuscan countryside. Here you have the chance to explore the countryside with stops in small midieval villages. Depending on your tastes and budget your driver guide will take you to the best-hidden, local establishments. We will also visit a well-rated winery for a private tour of the historical cellars & have an introduction to the production methods of the famous Chianti Classico. You will then enjoy a tasty (non-touristic) homemade light lunch including antipasti - a platter of cold cuts, cheeses and bruschetta, a delicious first course of pasta, a side dish and a typical dessert. Accompanying each dish will be a properly paired wine.
After enjoying your lunch in the Tuscan countryside, your driver guide will be happy to take you to explore a quaint village and stop at an amazing butcher shop to sample some of the local salami and cheese. There is always time for some photos as you enjoy the countryside drive full of vineyards and olive groves. Your driver will provide historical info about the characteristics of our wines and keep you entertained with curious stories and anecdotes of our beautiful region. Following the tour you will arrive back to the port of Livorno with many great memories of this beautiful region of Italy. Unless you tell us otherwise, we will reserve a non-touristic wine tasting & light lunch for your day in Chianti which will include a tour of the wine cellar with history of the local vineyard. This light lunch will include antipasti - a platter of cold cuts, cheeses and bruschetta; a delicious first course of pasta; a side dish and a typical dessert. Accompanying each dish will be a properly paired wine.
Vegetarian, gluten-free, allergy care menu options are available if requested well in advance
The cost for the light lunch, tour and wine pairing/tasting is not included in the cost of the tour and is paid on the day of the service. Plan on approximately 70-75 Euros per person depending on your date of travel and the winery selected as it is separate from Miles&Miles.
If you prefer lunch in a typical trattoria please let us know that in advance so we can plan your visit accordingly

- IF YOUR SHORE EXCURSION IS ON MONDAY PLEASE BE AWARE THAT MUSEUMS ARE CLOSED SO ACCADEMIA WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE FOR INSIDE VISITS DURING YOUR VISIT IN FLORENCE.
- This tour starts from the port of Livorno at 8:00am with a return to the port at around 5:30PM so let us know if you have different port times.
- Because you have chosen an excursion including Florence it will be assumed that you will want to see the David at the Accademia so we will automatically make a reservation for you. If you do not wish to visit the Accademia please let us know upon booking so that we do not make the reservation.
- Please note that the museums are closed on Mondays and the Duomo is closed for part of the day on Sunday.
- Please let us know in advance if prefer lunch at a trattoria instead of the wine tasting lunch option listed in the tour description.
- A walking tour is NOT included in this option, so If you would like to see the sites more in depth with a walking guide, let us know and we can arrange for a walking tour as part of your day. An additional fee will apply and it will only be arranged if you let us know in advance.
- Lunches, headsets, admission fees, wine tastings and gratuities are not included in the price of the tour.
- Please note it is prohibited to bring backpacks, camping or other bulky bags or luggage / trollies. You are allowed to enter with medium and small size backpacks carried on a shoulder which must be checked by metal detectors and/or opened and visually inspected before entering.
- Miles&Miles will make a reservation for your tickets and they are to be paid upon entry. Please advise in the comments upon booking if you do not want tickets purchased on your behalf.
- You will skip the general admission lines with this reservation, but you will still need to go through security upon entry and this cannot be skipped by anyone, for any reason.
- Admission Prices:
- 35 Euros per adult 18+ (includes reservation fee)
- 12 Euros per youth 6-17 (only pay the reservation fee)
- 12 Euros for 0-5 (only pay the reservation fee)
- The cost of the non-refundable tickets is not included in the cost of the tour but will be included on your final voucher.
- Please provide full names and dates of birth in the comments of your tour request so that we can order your tickets. Please bring a photo ID on the day of the tour as well. Do not bring large backpacks or tripods into any museum.
- Please note that the museums are closed on Mondays and the Duomo is closed for the early part of the day on Sunday.
- Please note that the museums are free every first Sunday of the month so we cannot purchase tickets to skip the line. We suggest not visiting museums on the first Sunday of the month and enjoy the city instead.
