The Day Trip to Florence from Rome gives a perfect mix of city and the countryside. The tours are led by expert English speaking driver guides and walking guides who will help to create a personalized experience while taking into account your specific interests. These incredible services enable you to tour the city with a native Italian guide showing you the real face of the city you are visiting. The tours are available in English or Italian, and are delivered with an insight and style that keeps our tours entertaining, fun, and informative.
If you have never been to Florence before you will be able to get a glimpse of the Umbrian and Tuscan landscape on our way there. Once you arrive you will see some of the major historical and artistic sites that Florence has to offer. As drive time though the regions of Italy is significant we will take you to as many sites in Florence as possible during your touring time so that you come away with a greater understanding of this area that is so vital to Italy's story.
We usually start off with a panoramic view of Piazzale Michelangelo to see the city below. We can also visit a few site or two of Florence that would be best reached with the driver guide or you prefer, you can have free time for shopping prior to your walking tour.
Depending on your tastes and budget your driver will be happy to suggest the best-hidden local establishments for lunch and maybe even take a few breaks for coffee and gelato. This day focuses the time in Florence for your walking tour so if time for shopping is important, you may want to ask about adding an hour to the day.
Florence 3hr Walking Tour - Usually at 1:00pm
We suggest the walking tour option with our local guide if you prefer more in depth information regarding the museums or churches in Florence. The walking guide will take you through the highlights of the city & the Accademia museum on foot.
Michelangelo’s David, the Cathedral and Dome of Brunelleschi, Tower of Giotto, the beautiful Signoria Square, The Santa Croce Church, the Ponte Vecchio and the leather market can be visited. An ethereal visit to the Church of Santa Croce (Basilica of the Holy Cross tombs where you will find some of the most illustrious citizens of Florence such as Michelangelo Buonarroti, Niccolo Macchiavelli, Galileo Galilei, Ghiberti and Alfieri.) Florence is truely a museum without walls so in case your tour lands on a Monday, we will be happy to use the extra time fully visiting other city sites.
*Time will not be sufficient to tour inside of the Uffizi Gallery unless you only visit that particular museum with the guide and not the city sites or Accademia. Please let us know if your primary intention is to see the Uffizi.
This tour starts from your local Rome area hotel.
Approximate tour time is 12 hours and additional time can be added at an hourly rate. Please talk to your driver guide to be sure that it is possible and ask us for pricing.
