Our Livorno Shore Excursion to Florence & Chianti Region gives you a chance to visit both the city and countryside during your day. The excursion is led by an expert English speaking driver guide whom will help to create a personalized experience while taking into account your specific interests. This incredible service enable you to tour with a native Italian guide showing you the real face of the area you are visiting. The tours are available in English or Italian, and are delivered with an insight and style that keeps our tours entertaining, fun, and informative.

Tour Description:
Our excellent English speaking driver guide will pick you up right at your ship and transfer you to Florence sharing with you the history of the local area in a fun informative way. Florence is world renowned as the birthplace of Renaissance art, history, and architecture, and thanks to Dante, the Italian language as well. On this overview of Florence you will see some of the major highlights of Florence including the panoramic view of the city from Piazzale Michelangelo, the main square of Piazza della Signoria, the main cathedral and the church of Santa Croce, the burial place of Michelangelo, Galileo and a host of other famous Florentines.
There is also time for the Leather School of Florence, started by the Franciscan monks, jewelry shopping on the Ponte Vecchio and a visit to the Accademia Museum where we will be sure to make an advance reservation so that you can skip the line to see the David by Michelangelo. Our driver guide will be available to your party for the entire day and will will give you general historical information of each site in Florence but as parking and driving restrictions are quite high in the center so he will not accompany you into the sites. Rather, he will give you the information and allow you time to explore the sites you wish to visit.
At 1:00pm, you will start out for the Chianti region where you will be able to forget about crowds and tourists and immerse yourself in the picturesque Tuscan countryside. In this charming area, you will enjoy a visit to a small Tuscan village with local formaggio, vino and perhaps a stop at a salumeria. Your driver guide will also suggest the best local family vineyard to stop at and depending on your budget and interests you can take part in a wine tasting and vineyeard tour with or with out a lunch option (see pricing below). After enjoying Florence and the Chianti region fully you will be ready to head back to the port with incredible knowledge and feeling like you have really had a good taste of this part of Italy. You will be back at the port at about 5:00 to 5:30pm.

- IF YOUR SHORE EXCURSION IS ON MONDAY PLEASE BE AWARE THAT MUSEUMS ARE CLOSED SO ACCADEMIA AND UFFIZI WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE ON THE TOUR.
- This tour starts from the port of Livorno at 8:00am.
- The approximate length of the day is 9 to 9.5 hours.
- Because you have chosen an excursion including Florence it will be assumed that you will want to see the David at the Accademia so we will automatically make a reservation for you. If you do not wish to visit the Accademia please let us know in advance so that we do not make the reservation.
- Please note that the museums are closed on Mondays and the Duomo is closed for part of the day on Sunday.
- Please let us know in advance if you would like one of the wine tasting options so that we can arrange this in advance. (see pricing options above)
- A walking tour is NOT included in this option, so If you would like to see the sites more in depth with a walking guide, let us know and we can arrange for a walking tour as part of your day. An additional fee will apply and it will only be arranged if you let us know in advance.
- Lunches, headsets, admission fees and gratuities are not included in the price of the tour.
- Please note it is prohibited to bring backpacks, camping or other bulky bags or luggage / trollies. You are allowed to enter with medium and small size backpacks carried on a shoulder which must be checked by metal detectors and/or opened and visually inspected before entering.
Accademia Ticket Information:
- Miles&Miles will make a reservation for your tickets and they are to be paid upon entry.
- You will skip the general admission lines with this reservation, but you will still need to go through security upon entry and this cannot be skipped by anyone, for any reason.
- Admission Prices:
- 20 Euros per adult 18+ (includes reservation fee)
- 4.00 Euros per youth 6-17 (only pay the reservation fee)
- Children 0-5 are free (reservation not needed, but we do ask that you let us know if there is anyone 5 and under)
- The cost of tickets is not included in the cost of the tour.
- The reservation fee of 4.00 Euros is non-refundable even if you do not enter the Accademia.
